Is the MS Mayflower Cruise Worth It?
Yes. The MS Mayflower Cruise is worth considering for travelers who want a refined Nile cruise with strong cabin comfort, selected private veranda options, generous suite privileges, and a broad range of onboard facilities. It is not simply a ship for sleeping between temple visits; it is designed to make the sailing experience part of the journey.
The Mayflower’s strongest advantage is the balance between elegant accommodation and practical onboard amenities. Guests can enjoy a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, spa, sauna, steam room, massage facilities, restaurant, lounge bar, library, table games area, and business corner. This makes the ship suitable for travelers who want both relaxation and variety during their free time on board.
Cabin quality is another important point. Every cabin includes essential comfort features such as a private bathroom with bathtub and shower, satellite TV, international phone, electronic safe, mini-fridge, coffee maker, internet access, and individually controlled air-conditioning. For travelers choosing Royal Suites, Presidential Suites, or Executive cabins, the cruise becomes even more premium thanks to daily minibar refills and unlimited drinks served in the Bar Lounge.

Guests staying in Royal Suites, Presidential Suites, or Executive cabins receive extra privileges that make the Mayflower experience more premium. These include a complimentary minibar that is replenished daily and unlimited soft and alcoholic beverages served in the Bar Lounge.

Day 4 – Aswan Landmarks & Cultural Evening
Your final full day aboard the MS Mayflower Cruise begins with a nourishing breakfast as you dock in the captivating city of Aswan—Egypt's southern gem where ancient wonders meet Nubian heritage. Accompanied by your expert guide from Egypt Top Tours, you'll start with a visit to the High Dam, a symbol of Egypt’s modern achievements. Towering above Lake Nasser, the dam not only controls the Nile’s flow but also generates hydroelectric power for millions.
Next, enjoy a scenic boat ride across the Nile to Agilkia Island, home to the enchanting Temple of Philae. This graceful sanctuary, once at risk of being lost to rising waters, was carefully relocated block by block by UNESCO. Dedicated to Isis, the goddess of magic and motherhood, its tranquil courtyards and elegant columns offer a spiritual serenity that lingers long after your visit.
Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk, a fascinating glimpse into ancient stoneworking. Still lying in the granite quarries where it cracked during carving, this colossal monument would have been the largest obelisk ever erected had it been completed. The site offers insight into the sheer scale and skill of ancient Egyptian artisans.
Return to MS Mayflower for a relaxing lunch and unwind on the sundeck as the Nile’s gentle breeze cools the afternoon. The rest of the day is yours at leisure—whether you prefer sipping tea while watching feluccas sail by or choosing from optional excursions curated by Egypt Top Tours.
