Is the Acamar Worth It?

Yes. The Acamar offers a strong luxury Nile cruise experience with recognised awards, Royal Suites, à la carte dining, and accessible cabin options starting from $749 per person. Its “Best Boat on the Nile” award reflects more than a marketing title; it points to the ship’s elegant design, refined service approach, and impressive suite standards.

One of the Acamar’s strongest advantages is its dining concept. The à la carte option gives dinner a more personal restaurant-style feel instead of making every meal feel like a standard cruise buffet. For its price level, the Acamar competes well with ships usually priced between $850 and $975, especially when comparing service quality, suite comfort, and overall atmosphere.

Who Is the Acamar Best For?

  • Award-quality luxury travelers who want a Nile cruise ship with a recognised history of excellence.
  • Guests with special needs or mobility requirements, thanks to 4 adapted cabins and 2 on-board lifts.
  • Travelers who prefer à la carte dining and want the option to order individual dishes from a menu.
  • Guests who enjoy a classic piano bar atmosphere in the evening.
  • Royal Suite travelers who want a larger suite experience at a competitive price.

Who Should Not Book the Acamar?

  • Travelers who require a private balcony in every cabin may prefer the Nile Goddess, where this feature is available fleet-wide.
  • Guests who need Thursday or Monday departures may find the Amwaj more suitable, especially with its open-air Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna.
  • Travelers looking for the highest ultra-luxury level with sliding windows and complimentary wellness facilities may prefer the Farah Nile Cruise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What awards has the Acamar won, and why are they important?

The Acamar won the “Best Boat on the Nile” award in 2004 and the Golden Crystal Award in 2005. These awards remain important because they show that the ship was recognised for more than appearance alone. They reflect its European-style elegance, high service standards, strong suite programme, and quality dining experience.

For travelers who want a Nile cruise with a proven reputation rather than simple promotional claims, these awards add real confidence. The Acamar continues to appeal to guests who value heritage, comfort, and a refined cruise atmosphere.

What adapted facilities does the Acamar offer for guests with special needs?

The Acamar includes 4 adapted cabins, each measuring approximately 26 m², designed for guests with special needs or mobility requirements. The ship also has 2 on-board lifts, making movement between decks easier and reducing the need to use stairs.

This makes the Acamar one of the most accessibility-conscious luxury Nile cruise ships in the Egypt Top Tours fleet. Guests with specific mobility requirements should share their needs at the time of booking so the correct cabin configuration and boarding arrangements can be confirmed.

What is the difference between à la carte and buffet dining on the Acamar?

The Acamar offers both à la carte and buffet dining. Buffet dining allows guests to choose from a wider self-service selection, while à la carte dining lets guests order individual dishes from a menu prepared specifically for them.

The à la carte option gives the evening meal a more elegant restaurant-style feeling, which is a major advantage at this price level. Both dining styles are served from the same kitchen and follow the same quality standards.
