In the afternoon, begin your exploration of Luxor’s East Bank with a visit to the Karnak Temples Complex—the largest religious structure ever built by mankind. While most of the current complex dates back to the Middle Kingdom, some references trace the site’s origins as far back as the 3rd Dynasty.
Next, continue to Luxor Temple, built by one of the kings of the 12th Dynasty and later completed by the famous Ramses II. Located in the heart of ancient Thebes, this temple was also devoted to Amun Re and played a central role in major religious festivals.

Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut at El-Deir El-Bahari—a stunning structure that rises in terraces against the cliffs. This beautifully preserved temple reflects the power and legacy of one of Egypt’s most remarkable female rulers.
Before heading back, pause at the Colossi of Memnon—two towering statues that have watched over the Theban necropolis for millennia. Though weathered by time, they remain impressive relics of a grand temple that once stood behind them.

Later in the afternoon, step ashore to visit the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple, a rare double temple dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility, and Horus the Elder, the god of kingship and sky.
