Crowds and prices in July
July is outside the October–April window our USA packages recommend. Our best-time guide names December and January as the busiest months, so July is not a peak month at the temple sites, while Red Sea and Mediterranean resorts depend on school-holiday demand.
Holidays and events in July
- July 23 – Revolution Day. A fixed-date national public holiday (a Friday in 2027).
- North Coast concert season. New Alamein, Marassi and beach clubs host concerts in July and August, aimed mainly at Egyptian and Gulf audiences rather than Nile sightseeing. No 2027 line-up has been announced.
The government may move the June 30 day off to Thursday, July 1, 2027 (the 2026 holiday was moved in this way); check the official decree.
What to pack for Egypt in July
Pack ultralight, loose clothing, a hat, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen and electrolyte sachets; swimwear for the coast and a light cover-up for mosques and rural areas (UK FCDO modesty advice). See what to pack for Egypt and what to wear in Egypt.
